Zoey's Baby Bump

To view full session, click here: Zoey's Baby Bump

This past weekend, I had a the privilege to photograph expecting parents, Zoey and Rob.  There is almost nothing I love more than a baby bump, and 8 1/2 month pregnant Zoey was beautiful and glowing.

We had a great afternoon exploring a Brighton Nature Reserve, feeding birds and chipmunks, and relaxing in one of the area's meadows. And, of course, we ended the day with ice cream to cool off Mama and baby!

This duo is very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and foliage and they taught me a great deal about the bird species and plant life we saw during our session.  I can already picture them bringing their little girl here, and teaching her about nature as well - what a lucky baby!

Congrats Zoey and Rob.. looking forward to meeting your bundle of  joy!

Until next time...

Molly, Dizzy, and Baby

To view full session click here: Molly, Dizzy, and Baby

While visiting my mother in Baltimore this past weekend, I took the opportunity to photograph some of my favorite, furry, childhood companions.

Molly is a beautiful German Sherpard that my mom adopted after I left for college (probably because she missed me so much).  And although my mom will tell anyone she meets just how irreplacble her only, loving daughter is ( haha mom - i know you are LOVING this).... Molly does a pretty darn good job of filling the void.  Molly is very playful and loves tennis balls - and not just one. She plays with two at a time and it is so funny watching her try and fit two tennis balls in her cheeks and carry them across the yard. My mom has her well trained though and she will bring her those two fluffy yellow balls at the snap of a finger.

Dizzy Mayand Baby were both high school additions. They are good old pals, and if I do say so myself - they are two fine looking cats. Both have such a sweet and innocent faces and I get really nostaligic just looking at them. I think about times with my family and taking care of these animals. I was lucky my mom put up with my wanting to save every animal on the planet.

I also love tryin to capture cats personailities. With dogs it is easy to get a silly moment, or a unique moment that describes the dogs personality. Cat's personalities are also much different on film. There is a quite grace about them and they hold back on you. Getting their TRUE personlitty on film is a fun and different challenge for me.

I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do. Until next time..

Baby Jack

For full session click here: Baby Jack

Today I met one of the world's cutest newborns - Baby Jack.  This 5 day old was so tiny and adorable; I could not have asked for a more perfect subject.  He slept for almost the entire two hours I was there and allowed myself and his parents to reposition him repeatedly so we could get the perfect shot.  A few feeding and cuddle breaks with his mother kept him full and content.  During his few cranky moments, Jack's Dad - aka "The Baby Whisperer" stepped in and soothed him back to sleep with in moments.  It was a truly special thing to be a part of.

I love newborn photography shoots - watching new parents love on and hold their precious bundle of joy; watching new life sleep, and stretch, and coo.

I feel honored to have met Baby Jack and spend some time with him and his family, capturing these beautiful moments. If this baby does not melt your heart, I don't know waht will!

Until next time....

Hannah, Noah and Caleb

CTo view full session click here: Drummond Family

The phrase "April showers bring May flowers!" is most definitely true down at The Arb - which was the site of my photo shoot today with the Drummond family. All those rainstorms we went through in April provided some beautiful  Peonies at the Arb for one of our backdrops.

As you grow you forget how magical a place like The Arb can be. When you are younger a place like the woods always seems like another world with endless possibilities. Hannah is 10, Noah is 7, and Caleb is 3. Nowadays it seems like most kids this age would rather be on a computer inside but these three enjoyed exploring and romping around the forest. It was fun to watch these kids get lost in their imaginations and simply enjoy being kids outside. Cheap fun in this situation was not an oxymoron!

The best part was that because this was a non-traditional photo shoot the kids had a great time as they got photographed. They were coming up with creative ideas and leading the process at times. When kids feel like they are a part of the process it really makes their true identity come out on film. They climbed  trees, played in a stream, smelled the flowers, blew bubbles, played many different sports, and built a troll house in the troll village! Truly a day of fun and photos!

I hope you enjoy these photos because there is a lot of purity and youth inside of them. Until next time...
