Zippo, Barney, and Burg celebrate Christmas Eve

For me, today WAS Christmas. We took the dogs to the dog park and as usual I brought my camera. Before the day was over I met three doggies and their owners and had a fabulous impromtu photo shoot! YAY! Thank you Santa!

Right away our 20 lb dogs started playing with a GREAT DANE named Burg! She was the most beautiful brindle color, and when she ran she looked like a horse! It was also amazing how gentle she was with our little dogs!

Then we met a freezing Greyhound named Zippo wearing a great  green Christmas sweater. Zippo got along with our Jack Russell/Italian Greyhound mix, Marley - probably because he was freezing too! Zippo was content hanging out with his family and sniffing Marley. I think this dog's gentle soul will really come through in these photographs.

Lastly, we met with a wrinkled Pug named Barney. Man this guy had a lot of skin! And he had such a great personality too. I nicknamed him the Mayor of the dog park.  He got along with all the dogs and people and he passed a tax cut bill all in a hour. He was perfect for our dog Max. Max just wants to be chased and Mayor Barney just wants to chase!!

Please feel fee to leave a comment if any of these photos make you smile. Happy Holidays to everyone! Until next time...

Speedy Jade!

Had a great shoot with Jade and Meghan today at Swift Run Dog Park. She is a very active dog... and fast, fast, fast! It took me a minute to catch up with her when I first started shooting, and before you know it, I was rolling around in the snow to catch this playful Spaniel in action.

And what a model! It was such great contrast; her silky, black coat against the white of the snow. She looked beautiful, and it was a blast to play with her during the shoot!!!! Enjoy these pictures.... Until next time...

Snowball Fiiiiight!

Click here to view full session: Mark and Peggy

These days everyone is trying to figure out how to give a gift that comes from the heart more than the wallet. This Christmas shoot was a present from son to mother. Just think that after all the years of dragging her son to get holiday pictures taken, it is this year that Peggy's son, Mark, drug her to a photo shoot! We used a favorite location of mine - the Arb. I allowed Mark and Peggy to enjoy each other's company in this beautiful place while capturing the moments they were creating on film. The Arb is such a beautiful place that it is almost impossible to have a bad shoot there. Again we had a mixture of posed and candid shots. I also took a couple of action shots as I caught them in the middle of a full blown snowball fight. In the end it seemed that the shoot itself turned out to be just as much of a present as the photos themselves. More than getting great professional photos taken, it is about spending time with the ones you love and having that time artistically captured.  Until next time...

Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

Here are some shots from a walk in the woods with my dogs!    I just love how the change in season creates a brand new backdrop for photography, and the snowflakes create a dramatic effect in the shots taken.  Until next time..
